This also applies to the words we use in defining a formal vocabulary, use cases, business, information and functional models and other related activities.&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;

Some basic lexicography terms:&amp;lt;br /&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
A &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;quot;Concept&amp;quot;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is some &amp;#039;thing&amp;#039; - an object, real or imaginary, anything - that we can think or talk about&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
A &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;quot;Term&amp;quot;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is the language-dependent &amp;quot;label&amp;quot; that we associate with a given concept.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
A &amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;quot;Definition&amp;quot;&amp;#039;&amp;#039;&amp;#039; is a piece of text - as you would find typically in a standard dictionary - that sufficiently explains the concept and (ideally) distinguishes it from other terms and concepts with which it might be confused.&amp;lt;br/&amp;gt;&lt;br /&gt;
