About the User Experience Committee
The User Experience committee (UXC) of the Identity Ecosystem Steering Group (IDESG) is dedicated to promoting usability in online transactions – one of the four Guiding Principles of the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace.
Explore this landing page to learn more about how to join our committee, to read about our projects (past, current, and future), or to solicit expert advice from UX committee members.
NOTE: The terms "User Experience" and "Usability" are used here to include work recognized by us and groups / sites such as userexperiencedesigns.com as standard UX and Usability work to support the IDESG and NSTIC Goals.
The UXC holds weekly meetings every Tuesday, 9am PT, 12pm ET (except holidays) (new time starting 9/9/14). Additionally we hold occasional working meetings for a particular project as needed. See our maillist for information on occasional meetings.

What We Do
Here are a few of the main projects we’ve been working on:
- Identity Ecosystem Framework: The UXC developed usability requirements for v1 of the IDEF, publicly released in October 2015. The UXC is continuing to work on amendments to the IDEF glossary and will work on IDEF v2 in 2016.
- Standards: The UXC is currently reviewing UX-related standards to push through the Standards Adoption Process in the IDESG Standards Coordination Committee.
- Helping with the IDEF Registry project as needed.
Review the worklist (link) for the most up-to-date list of UXC projects.
