Proposed Definition

One of the following types of provider

  1. Identity Provider (IdP)
  2. Attribute Provider (AP)
  3. Intermediary
  4. Trusted Third Party (TTP)
  5. Privacy Enhancing Technology Provider (PETP)

The Provider is combination of several categories of Digital Entity other than the Relying Party or User Agent.

NSTIC Definition: [Organization] responsible for establishing, maintaining, and securing the digital identity associated with that subject. These processes include revoking, suspending, and restoring the subject's digital identity if necessary. The identity provider may also verify the identity of and sign up (enroll) a subject.
