Meeting Minutes

  • Noreen Whysel is getting close to finalizing her project interviewing organizations who have completed self-attestations on the IDEF Registry. Noreen will present at the TFTM meeting on October 11 to present her findings. She completed six interviews. All committees and chairs have been invited to attend. That should give us information about the next revision of the framework. The only data that is being collected on the framework seems to be that work done by Noreen. However, Tom Jones has requirements to add as does Mary Hodder on things that didn’t make it into V1.0
  • Mary reported that the SOW for the Registry is close to being completed. They will continue with the design and marketing SOW with another 80 lines to cover in the spreadsheet at the meeting on October 6, 2017.
  • The Registry project is still waiting for budget confirmation. Things that have been asked for that are slipping, last Board meeting was canceled and there seems to be no progress. Mary Hodder was asked about quoting a third-party certification program for IDESG. She needs direction from IDESG leadership to define requirements and define further what they are asking for. Some feel that third-part certification should not be part of the IDEF Registry, but a separate project. There was also a question of where the funding would come from to support a third-party certificate program.
  • The team then went on to review and discuss the work that Tom Jones has been working on for Trust Metrics. And, in particular, the Problem: How to make IDEF Attractive to Relying Parties. He also suggested the team might find some good ideas in this paper from Susan Morrow https://www.csoonline.com/article/3227912/identity-management/identity-data-in-the-world-of-gdpr.html
  • Mary recommended that the problem statement be made into a separate page. Tom Jones noted that the only way we are going to get relying parties onboard is if the user experience includes a level of trust. Getting relying parties to come into the IDESG sandbox is how we will measure success. The team discussed ways to modify the text so that it would be attractive to relying parties and show them the value of IDESG. Tom Jones will continue to work on the wiki page document to clarify some of the text that was discussed during the meeting.
