Background

The mission of the IDESG Standards Coordination Committee (SCC) is to "review applicable standards and adopt those that support achievement of the NSTIC vision." To that end, the SCC began collecting a list of potentially applicable standards into a "standards inventory" with the intent of eventually migrating these to a wiki. We have also drafted standards adoption criteria that would be applied to any of these potentially applicable standards that may become candidates for IDESG adoption and inclusion in the IDESG Standards Registry.

Upon availability of the IDESG Wiki, the SCC chose to initially focus on the Taxonomy and Use Case wikis, since these projects were active and the other committees weren't ready to begin submitting their standards requirements. However, several of the committees have begun looking at standards adoption and therefore it appears that it is time to focus on the Standards Wiki.

Purpose

The purpose of the Standards Wiki AHG is to:

  • Design the IDESG Standards Wiki
  • Implement and maintain the Standards Wiki
  • Migrate the contents of the Standards Catalog/Inventory to the Wiki
  • Liaise with other IDESG committees to encourage them to add to and comment on the Standards Wiki
  • Tag Wiki entries with the "status" of the item with respect to IDESG adoption
  • Collect standards requirements from other IDESG committees
